| Notes From the Road: The Bahamas- Exuma Cays Powerboat
Tour |
 |
|
On a recent program we took 80 attendees to the
Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. The Bahamas has over 700
islands, about 30 of which have permanent settlements. Set in
the most beautiful, crystal blue waters, these islands share a
rich history and culture.
One of our group activities offered was a power boat tour
to the Exuma Cays. This exciting tour over clear, shallow,
aqua waters included hand feeding bat rays in the ocean,
viewing a shark-feeding frenzy via snorkel mask under water,
feeding grapes to giant iguana’s, snorkeling a private reef.
We also enjoyed excellent Caribbean food & hospitality
& breath-taking scenery.
Other activities to enjoy in the Bahamas – shopping
excursions, Dolphin Encounters, Golf (recommended course-
Ocean Club, Nassau), Para-Sailing, Scuba Diving, Sport Fishing
& Sailing.
Contact SPG for details about this exciting destination.

| Cancun's Comeback: Bigger and Better than
Ever! |
 |
|
8,000 newly planted palm trees and numerous tons of white
sand... Cancun is open and ready for business after surviving
the back-to-back hurricanes, Emily and Wilma in 2005.
My first glimpse at the multi-hued blues of the Caribbean
was enough to take my breath away. I heard story after story
about the oceanfront hotels that literally lost all of their
beaches, only to have them replaced days before my visit.
Youd never know by looking at them that they havent always
been there.
Cancun and the Riviera Maya offer both all-inclusive and
European Plan properties, beautiful beaches and all the water
sports associated with them, snorkeling, sailing,
sportfishing, swimming with Dolphins, and ancient Mayan sites.
In the town of Playacar, you can roam on foot along Fifth
Avenue, a 10-block area of quaint sidewalk restaurants, bars,
and shops. Looking for silver? This is the place to go.
Being a first-time visitor to Cancun, I really had nothing
to compare it to except what I had read about and seen in
pictures. The only real giveaway to the devastation caused by
the hurricanes is the occasional hotel that still sits
untouched by rebuilding efforts. But those are few and far
between.
Instead, what you see are beautifully renovated hotels,
some with rolling green manicured lawns, all with lush
landscaping. The people of Cancun and the Mexican government
worked together at an amazingly rapid speed to get these
hotels open and ready for business.
So, when youre
thinking of a great place for an incentive or convention, come
back to the new Cancun.
