PASSPORT ALERT - BE PREPARED IN 2009
According to the Department of Homeland Security,
US Citizens entering the United States by sea or land
from within the Western Hemisphere will be required
to present a valid passport to be admitted back into
the country beginning June 1, 2009.
If you are planning a program in Mexico, The
Caribbean or any other similar locations after June of
2009, be sure to give your attendees adequate time to

HOLIDAY PARTIES WITH PIZZAZZ!
Themed holiday parties are a great way to reward

Channel your inner idol with an American Idol themed
Holiday Party! Guests walk down the red carpet and
are surrounded by Papparazzi, then mingle with
Hollywood Star look-alikes while they sip their
specialty cocktails. Themed booths can include
a "Star Makeover" Station (with hair, makeup and
accessories like boas, hats, sunglasses, jewelry), a
Nintendo Playstation Area with the Guitar Hero Game,
and a Photo Booth where guest can take pictures with
the "Hollywood Stars."
The event centers around a "live-band-backed"
karaoke contest- individuals or groups are outfitted
in rock 'n roll legend costumes backstage. A playlist
is provided or they can pick their own songs to
perform. The most talented performers can be
recognized with GRAMMY®-inspired awards.
Afterward, live music rocks the house!
FIRE AND ICE BALL
Guests are greeted by an aesthetic mix of swirling
blues, mauve, reds and purple haze to contrast with
the stark white of snow-capped volcanoes that look to
be on the verge of erupting. The bright red molten
lava leads the way towards the amazing illuminated
ice bars and ice furniture. A mixture of red-hot ice
sculpture creations and state-of-the-art ice-cool
lighting set the scene.
Add a winter fairyland castle, an ice igloo or perhaps a
snow hotel for more impact. Guests are served by
body-painted Fiery Hot and Cool Ice Maiden
Hostesses. An ice sculptor is carving the finishing
touches to an ice bar (spare gloves are available for
those who wish to try their hand at ice sculpturing!).
Fire jugglers, living human tree statues adorned with
snow and icicles, and chainsaw wielding ice carvers
entertain the crowd. Martinis are served from an Ice
Bar while tropical concoctions come from a Volcano
Bar. After dinner, dance the night away to an
electrifying live band!

The latest industry trend to take center stage is the
implementation of green initiatives in meetings and
events. Across the board, hotels, gift vendors and
transportation companies are coming up with new
methods to "go green," and the idea of creating less
waste and better utilizing resources has quickly
become the center of good meeting
practices.
